The AIANYS Board of Directors come together as a cumulative voice for the 9000+ members in the State of New York, while overseeing the various operational aspects and activities of the membership body. Roles & Participation include:

  • New York State Representative to the National Associates (2023 - 2024)

The AIANY Board of Directors is elected by the Chapter’s membership and its Nominating Committee each year. This diverse group of practitioners and allied professionals brings a wealth of experience to the functioning of the Chapter. Roles & Participation include:

  • Engage in Chapter Functions Strategy discussions & decisions

  • Vice Chair AIANY Advocacy Committee (2021, 2022, 2023)

  • Steering Committee Member for AIANY’s Inaugural Political Action Fund (PAF) (2020 & 2021; 2023)

  • Jury Selection Committee for AIANY Transportation and Infrastructure (T+I) Design Excellence Awards (2020)

  • Jury Member for AIANY Committee Excellence Grant Application Award (2020)

  • Jury Member for ENYA ARE Scholarship Selection (2019)

100 Resilient Cities (100RC) Platform Partnership

2017-2019

Pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation, the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) was created to help more cities build resilience to the physical, social, and economic challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century.

Cities in the 100RC network, among other offerings, are provided access to solutions, service providers, and partners from the private, public and NGO sectors who can help them develop and implement their Resilience Strategies.

By successfully co-spearheading Perkins Eastman’s joining of 100RC’s elite team of platform partners as the sole architecture practice, recognized on the platform as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Selected to inaugural class of AIANY Civic Leadership Program (CLP); Served on the CLP’s Strategic Taskforce in subsequent years (2018 & 2019).

Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery NYRCR

April 2014 & June 2015

The team’s NYRCR Plans for South Valley Stream, the East and South Shores of Staten Island, and the Gravesend and Bensonhurst communities were recognized by the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery with “Rising to the Top” awards for Green Infrastructure, Economic Development, and Engagement of Vulnerable Populations, respectively – resulting in a combined $7 million of additional funds towards project implementation in these communities.


Perkins Eastman Scholarship

Resilience Case Study Research + Rotterdam Trip

2014 - 2015

Awarded a Perkins Eastman Scholarship for further research and expertise development on the topic of “Resilience” including a trip to Rotterdam in October 2015, as part of a series of case study research.

Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI)

2010-Present

The mission of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) is to create a growing, global network of credible, accomplished community-spirited Nigerian leaders, committed to taking responsibility for driving positive change in Nigeria and Nigerian communities.

For the 2010 class, invited as one of 32 highly motivated, high achieving successful young professionals from Nigeria and the Diaspora between the ages of 23-35 years believed to be uniquely qualified to influence the future development of the Nigerian society through values-based leadership.


Harvard Africa Business Plan Competition, HBS

1st Place Team

2-Member Team; Role included co-development of the business plan, marketing strategies and logo design.


Harvard Real Estate Services Art Competition

Designed the winning poster for this competition sponsored by Harvard Real Estate Services (HRES) to celebrate the completion of its’ seven-year Graduate Student Housing Initiative.
